The Girl in the Meadow

The Lord's Daughter
The First Meeting
Serret, the daughter of the Lord of Re Albi, met Ged in a meadow. She was half-witch, and she mocked him into boasting. She asked him to work a Changing spell, and he tried to read a summoning spell, which brought the first shadow.
The Manipulator
Ogion warned that Serret's mother was a sorceress, and that Serret might have been sent to test him. She was a catalyst for Ged's first disaster.
The Lady of the Court

The Temptress
The Seduction
Serret had become the beautiful wife of Lord Benderesk. She welcomed Ged and tried to persuade him to use the Terrenon stone. She promised him power and mastery.
The Betrayal
When Ged refused, she revealed her true allegiance. She killed the servants and escaped with him, but was killed by the Stone's servants. Her greed and desire for power led to her death.
Serret's Death

The Gull's Fate
The Transformation
Serret transformed into a grey gull to escape, but the Stone's servants, black flying creatures, pursued and killed her. Ged, in hawk form, saw them catch her.
The Symbol of Lost Souls
Serret was a victim of her own ambition and the Old Powers. Her death was a warning about the dangers of seeking power through evil means.
